Tried inflating the air suspension.........

Post by JDredd »

I have a 87 Interstate and was going over the bike getting it ready for this year. This is my first wing that I got last year. LOVE the bike, but re-learning the maintenance. Went to inflate the rear air shocks with a hand pump and as soon as I disconnected the chuck, oil started to come out of the air chuck. I have some other problem I have to address don't I?

Oil frequently travels up from the shock into the air lines, and you'll see it come out like this. Is the suspension holding air?

So far so good. Nice to know it might not be as catastrophic as I thought.
