Good question. I was doing a search as to how to do this just now and found your question. On another site it said to remove the headlight and the back of the speedo would be accessible through there. They were mistaken. It is not accessible through the headlight on my bike. It isn't through the radio hole either. Well at least I can tough the back of the speedo, but cannot get the cable off.

To me it looks like the fairing has to come off. My Haynes manual only points to doing it on an Aspencade, and not very clear about it either.

Have you had any luck getting yours on yet? I'm surprised that nobody answered you. This site usually does a good job at answers.
