Post by walker70 »

Hi,I am getting ready to pull the old lighter out and replace it because the old one isn't working, all rusty looking but want to know if anyone can tell me which fuse runs the lighter in case the new one still won't work. :D

well, cigarette lighter sockets are not OEM so can be wired in in different places, even direct to battery, but I would guess its wired to the AUX screws on the top of fuse box. The fuse is 5amp but you may find also, there is an in line fuse to the socket.

Cigarette lighters typically draw 6 - 8 amps when heating up, although when you initially push them in, they momentarily reach 10A so you will need a 15A fuse in there. Maybe the bike is telling you it's time to give up the weed?
