I see Diaphragms for sale cheaper than slides BUT does anyone know how to change them?

Re: Carb Slide Diaphragms
To change the diaphragm, remove the four screws from the top cover (hold onto the cover as you remove that last screw as the spring that is under there tends to shoot the cover skyward) and remove the diaphragm. To remove the needle from the diaphragm, inside there is a Phillips head that requires a 1/8 - 1/4 turn and the holder and needle will fall out.
When reinstalling, just make sure the notch in the top cover lines up with the protrusion from the edge of the diaphragm and make sure the needle is in the.
This is a simplified explanation for a long process that is in the 84-87 Service manual.

to scottylfixit Yes very pricey but with diaphragms 4 for $99 would not be bad. But how to change them is the big question.

Re: Carb Slide Diaphragms
to brianinpa Thanks but the question is how to change the flexible diaphragms on the aluminum slide.

Re: Carb Slide Diaphragms
Understand the question, but you might be better off replacing the entire slide and diaphragm instead as there isn't any good way to change just the diaphragm.

Looks like peel off and crazy glue the new. Shown on a You tube video. A whole lot of work if it doesn't work.

Re: Carb Slide Diaphragms
Hello all,
i just replaced my diaphragms on my GL1200 interstate.
I found them cheap on aliexpress.
turned out membranes from a HMHonda VLX 400 (Steed 400) Motorbike Keihin carburateur
are a match, only need to re-use your old needles because these are different size.
i bought them complete at 11.49 dollar a piece.
my bike runs like new.
Glad if this might be any help.
