Fork seal question

Post by walker70 »

Hi,was wondering if anyone ever had this happen, yesterday I rolled my bike out to ride but when I got it out of my shop I noticed a bit of fork oil on the floor so I pulled the dust seal up on the left fork and found that the spring that fits around the top of the seal has popped out of it's groove on top, easy fix because I bought two sets of seals when I replaced them at the first of this year, just curious if anyone has had that spring pop on their bike, the photo is of a good seal.

Never seen that happen before - I wonder if it was displaced when the seal was installed somehow?
