Need a Shadetree Mechanic in the DFW Area

Post by rookiebiker »

I'm looking for a shadetree mechanic in the DFW area who enjoys working on older Goldwings. My dad purchased his baby--a Goldwing 1200 Aspencade SEi--in 1987 and was an avid rider until falling ill in 2003. He converted the bike to a trike around 1997. It had been sitting in his garage since 2003 until I pulled it out a few months ago to try to get it running. It didn't take me long to realize that I was in way over my head, so I took it down to my local Honda shop. $1k later it's still not running. I live north of DFW airport. Is there anyone in the area that would be interested in helping me? I would love to be able to take my dad on some rides.

I know a older gentleman in Granbury (bit of a drive from north DFW) who does all my work. His home shop is set up with lift, tire changing equipment, and all the speciality motorcycle tools. He has worked on my motorcycles and recently on my Gold Wing GL 1800. The good part is, he's very reasonable. He has years of experience working on Gold Wings. He's also a triker, himself. I highly recommend you give Paul 817-980-8184 a text/call.

I recommend Paul as well. He's done work for several in my Chapter.
