NS Sensor...Crank Angle Sensor- Thread & Pictures

Post by Big Dogcrux »

Thanks to a few of these Goldwing Docs...I am starting to really appreciate this information forum. So I want to continue:
Pictures attached are- NS sensor (1985 GL1200LTD)...crank angle sensor....

NS Sensor & Harness

NS sensor

NS sensor was pulled off Honda Goldwing 1985 GL1200 LTD yesterday. And a multi meter test on wires at herness concludes zero ohms across the coil mount (little black module).

*Symtoms, no spark on plugs 1,3,2 or 4.
*Motor turns over...
*Open at crank angle sensor, NS connector
pins @ ECU.

Now...next phase:

Find a replacement..???????
No one makes these sensors anymore.?????
Honda might have a GL1500 sensor that can be fitted and modified.?????
Or find a company that can rebuild this one.????

Any more helpful information?
Thanks to all you genius trouble shooters out there...we have done all we can!

Is it possible you try and source a sensor from a motorcycle wrecker in your area?

Quite possibly. A junk yard full of Goldwings would be awesome! A used Goldwing for parts would be great, any salvage would be a potential fix. My dad found a sensor on ebay with the same ohms...doesn't have the same mounting bracket, but it might serve as a timing conductor for computations. Thanks for the advice Aussie...

If you attach a "non OEM" pulse coil to the bike...Take precautions of 2 things...The air gap to the trigger and if it does not work..reverse the 2 wires..The pulse is polorized.
