Last season the speedometer went wacky and eventually stopped working entirely.
Whilst replacing the fork seals I discovered the electronic speedo pickup was dripping with oily water.
I made sure the blade which drives it did in fact spin which led me to believe the electronics in the housing had failed.
The electronic pickup is hard to find and the one I did find is exorbitantly expensive so I'm looking for a different solution.
A schematic would do just fine but a replacement would just plain rock.
Anyone have suggestions or ideas?

Re: '86 Aspencade electronic speedometer
I have an '85 gl1200a. Replaced my sensor last year because the slot got chewed up by a failed gearing in the wheel portion. I could insert a screw driver and spin the unit and the speed would show up on the display but would not work on the bike. I still have it, not sure if it is the same as the '86. Send me a PM if interested in it.
