87 aspencade no sound

Post by xodus » Fri Mar 16, 2018 8:25 pm

The radio was working recently until i removed the cb to replace for an original (the old one was put back in to test if it would work and it does not). Does anyone know where on the 87 aspencade the fuse for the amp was moved to from the left pocket?(only fuse in there is the clock fuse, and in the fuse panel under the faux tank is the radio only fuse) All the controls work, radio turns on but no pop from the amp.

Check to see if the 'headset' button was pushed. It will turn off the speakers and turn on the headsets. Push the button to go back to speakers. After that punt

Only reason mentioned, I was working on mine (back when) and must have bumped it, cause it was on and I was searching for what I'd done. Some how it got pressed 8-)

Yeah I saw its common. But its working again. Must've just been a dirty connection when I removed the cb. Reconnected them a couple times installed the new cb  and all is well.

Yeah, the other one is that obnoxious "mute" button on the handlebars since the GL1100. I've gone through more extensive "repair" processes than I care to admit because of that stupid button...
