I have used the kits from saber cycle, they are not OEM but work fine, have had them in now for a few years, both clutch and front brake. not sure how they compare in price to OEM though.

I have one I would sell, a new OEM kit I bought that wouldn't work because the cylinder had been bored out. I is a 45530-MG9-951, which translates to fit all 1200s and early 1500s. $25 in hand (paypal) and your address and it's on its way. PM me if you want it.

45530-MA4-671

are you very sure of yours?

can you phone a dealer near you and ask?

i will check what oldiswinger is saying also for the jobber kit,i dont care if its jobber ,,if it goes on my Wing

i want to be sure it fits there,
i am in Canada also ,,not in the US

I think you may have the wrong OEM number for the kit, this is for a 84 aspy right? the OEM number that I got through cyclemax OEM is
45530-471-831 this coincides with non OEM kit at saber cycle here: https://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product112.html

check out my info before carrying on though I may be wrong.

You're right, this is for 85 on. There is no need to phone a dealer, just look it up online.

I wouldn't take sabre cycles word the sky is blue. But they are right on this one.

I would suggest you do some research on the numbers given they will probably all relate to kits for a 1200 goldwing, but unless the information states specifically that it fits a 84 apsy, then it would be wrong to assume it fits your bike. You are looking for a part number that says it is made to fit your bike, some information Ive seen is like "fits 84 to 87 Interstate and aspencade, but NOT sei ltd" this is specific infor that says it will fit a specific bike, and thats what you are looking for.

Ive used a spray can of brake disc cleaner to clean a master cyclinder it might be worth a shot, use a straw. it doesnt leave residue

That is probably a bad idea, brake parts cleaner is what you should use. Bet it comes out with no paint on it and the rubber parts destroyed.

I would try some brake cleaner, it is a powerful solvent that will turn that syrup into water and drain right out. It is designed to dissolve brake fluid, even crusted-on brake fluid, along with any other oil or grease. And it leaves no residue behind after it evaporates (it's very volatile).

The best rebuild kit I've found is PartsnMore. For the GL1200A you can find it here:

http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/honda/gl1200a/

They are located in Canada, so shipping takes a bit longer, but their products are of consistently high quality. I've used them many times.

Beware Chinese parts! I just installed a Chinese starter brush set on my GF 1983 Virago 2 months ago and they already turned to dust. Local Automotive Starter/Alternator repair shop charged $26 to fit another set of brushes. They'll probably outlast the bike.
A local inventor has figured a way to turn a sausage grinder backward to manufacture pigs.

yes
chinese scrap,,

i baught a kit myself too "rebuilt" kit for my starter,,i never installed it.the bearing are so cheap i finnally reused the same bearing but grease them and clean the motor brushs.

the front cylinder brake that i have is very used,,this bike was no degligit,,,not well maintain so the OEM kit that i baught for nothing was not good enough to make the pressure rise inside the master cylinder.it's like putting standard piston ring on a piston that would need one or 2 over size rings,

there are not so bad chinese scrap outhere and some really bad one that should not be sold or installed on bike,,my opinion.
