34" GL1500 windshield on a GL1200 ?

Post by Malm »

I saw SilverDave post and show a pic of his 1200 with the tall windshield.
So, I decided I had to have that too!! (I am 6'2"+)
So I bought one on ebay, $125 shipped brand new...
Now I get to looking, and I am afraid it will be more involved than simply expanding the mounting holes?
I have not taken it apart yet, but anyone that has already done this, how involved is it?
Also, without the vent, is it going to block all the air and be miserable?

Hello,

I got a oversize windshield for my GL1200A from Memphis shades. It did not require any modifications. At 6' 1" I understand wanting the extra protection.

Depends where you ride, I guess .

I often leave the vent closed, even on a summer day . The two side Wind Wings move more air than the vent ever does.

But why would you have to change the holes at all ?
Mine fit perfectly , with NO mods . Is it really a GL1200 Slipstreamer ??
