Can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement unit for my GL1200? Mine had seen much better days before I bought the bike and I'm getting down to the final strokes in the refurbish. Alternatively, is there another stereo that would fit?
Thanks very much.

Re: Stereo for GL1200 Interstate
I have had an '82 Interstate and now have an '87 Interstate. In my setup on the fairing for both it allowed for any standard size stereo replacement to fit. If I could see a photo of your setup I would be better able to recommend a stereo that would fit. I am attaching a link to the stereo that fit in both of my Interstates. The purchased stereo came with a steel sleeve that fits into most existing stereo allowing for it to be inserted with not much problem.Gord Jones wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:22 pm Can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement unit for my GL1200? Here is what worked for me. It has Bluetooth, and can also play mp3's from an SD card. And has a aux port to play anything through it the takes a 1/8 inch jack. The cool thing about the Bluetooth is that I can hear my map app from my phone through the stereo even when the music might be on. AND it only costs $25, pretty easy to install, and for the price, well made and doesn't give me any problems.

I hope it can fit for you. A pic of your dash would help me help you.

So you found an aftermarket radio that fits the current Stereo port on your Goldwing... That's awesome.
I was wondering if their were any aftermarket that would fit.
I noticed you uploaded the Wal-Mart stereo you purchases does it fit the port in the picture I uploaded ??

I see you have a 1984 GL1200 Aspencade. Aspencades are pretty different than Interstates, which is what I have. The electronis are very much different, and I have never seen how the stereos fit into the. But in the following photo I hope I can explain how the mounting of the stereo worked for me.VeteranRiderz wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 8:06 pm

My best guess from seeing the pic you posted is that it wouldn't fit. But if I saw the hole it would be put into, maybe it could.

Wow. This is just what I am looking for. My stereo quit after a well meaning grand daughter pressure washed it for me. Things happen sometimes.
