Re: color identification
Firstly, you will never get an exact match. Sadly after 30 + years, your paint has oxidized and faded a shade or two ...
But ...Secondly ,all is not lost ..... its still possible :
When my colour matching utility trailer needed a bit of touchup
( The lid flew off while tooling down the Fraser Canyon highway)
I found that local car accessory dealers have lots of half sized colour matched spray paints for many years of cars.....
( see Canadian Tire ?? Lordco ?? )
I took off one of the side covers , which on my Aspy has both shades of the blue that are on my bike, and took it with me.
It was pretty easy to choose a close colour spray can in the store.
Since it was just 2 small corners where the paint was gone, and I did not want to mask it off ... I just sprayed some into a pie plate , and dabbed it on with a Q-tip. Three coats did it for me.
If you have a larger area, you might have to mask and spray .. .....
You have to look at the trailer corners very closely on a bright and sunny day to see that its not an exact match.....
but for me, its "close enuf" ... LOL

Re: color identification
On the underside of your gas fill door you should see the paint color codes and some of the automotive paint stores can get you the proper color.
