After pulling away from a red light and coming up to speed in 4th I got this bump like a gear slipped. A couple of seconds later it did it again and then continuously. Haven't had time to analyze it yet but I was just wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone?

After a brief inspection, I think maybe it is the rear end drive gear or something in that area. Plan on breaking it down today or tomorrow, whenever I get through with my honey-do's.

Is it happening only in fourth gear? If so, it's the transmission, not the final drive. Also, if it was the final drive (or driveline) it would tend to slip at lower gears (when torque is much higher) than in higher gears.
Did you perhaps not shift firmly enough, so the gears aren't fully engaging?

Mine will do it once or twice but as Wingadmin suggests it’s from not fully pulling the gear shift up all the way. It could be a worn or slightly bent shift fork. Repair is a full tear down.
