How to reinstall the seat?

Hey everyone I just finished replacing the timing belts on my wing, everything webt back together no problem, except the seat, I can’t get it to get pass the passengers back rest

Ok, so I ended up removing the rear trunk, I figured that renovind 4 bolts was easier than wrestling the seat in place, but I still can’t get it to go completely forward, the screws are at the beginning of the slot

On the '85 GL1200A the seat is held on by two Alan bolts. There is a lever on the left side that is supposed to let you adjust the seat forward and aft. If the lever gets twisted 90 degrees it can cause problems.

Sorry no picture, look at page 50 of the owners manual you can download from the link above. The flat part of the adjuster is horizontal.
