Bad job of getting a broken bolt out.
Hi,this does not happen to me too often but luckily this is on my parts engine,am curious if any of you may have a way of fixing this,I am not going any further than I have because I got pretty close to the outer edge of the case also a bit chipped off the back of it,my thought would be to add some jb weld around it and build it up and then just put a bolt with a nut on the back, all I can say about it is that for me today has been a Monday.

You could tack weld another bolt on the end of it and use that to back it out. Tough to do though when it's so far in.

Hi,got the bolt out and thanks to a friend of mine he told me how to fix it with a heli coil and tack it in,too bad he's a Harley guy,by the way I getting ready to pull the engine on my 86 wing to put a new stator on,I have seen a few videos on how to pull the back cover off, some have the engine sitting with the cover pointing up,this seems to be a good way, what would be a good cushion to tip the engine onto, thanks.

Another benefit to tipping the engine on its nose like that to remove the rear cover is it will save you the cleanup of about 1/2 Quart of "Surprise" oil that lives back there even after the crankcase is drained.
