Interesting Ride

Post by Ohara »

I went for a short ride today to get some supplies. On the way home I heard a strange noise that I thought came from the radio. Unfortunately it was the valve stem tearing apart on my rear wheel. I was only doing about 60 mph at the time. Any how it was quite a wobbly ride until I got stopped. No harm done thank goodness. I will only use metal valve stems from now on.
My question is, what size stems does a gl 1200 Aspencade use? I think they are 11mm but want to be sure before I order a pair.

thanks redmaxs60 I have been thinking about installing metal valve stems myself wasnt too sure which ones either. may I ask you: do they clear the calipers and brake discs ok, and did you have too alter the rim at all? I have heard of some that require that the rim around where the valve stem fits needs abit of filing. many thanks

No mod to the rim and do miss the rotors and calipers.
