Finding oil in coolant

Post by BroChester »

When checking coolant level I noticed a little oil floating on top of coolant in coolant reserve tank. Cracked head? Blown head gasket. No water in oil.

My SEi was like that when I bought it, just a bit of oil in the overflow tank. I flushed the cooling system 3 times with distilled water then refilled with proper antifreez (I'm using Zerex Asian now). That was 2 yrs ago. I have not seen any more oil in the coolant. Old Hondas are self healing! I believe the sorce of the oil is typicly the water pump itself but not sure about that. I doubt it's a head or gasket.
