Where does this vacuum hose go?

Post by buckskinner1776 »

Took the carbs out yesterday to clean them. Had varnish issue. Have them back together now and was just looking over things to connect and realized I'm not sure where this hose goes. I will try to attach a picture. The hose in question is marked as #1 in the lower right and I've traced a red line along its path. What does this connect to??? The hose marked #2 in the upper right is the one that I believe goes up to the sensor for ignition advance.

First - I'm no expert by any means. Only had
my '87 for 3 years. On my used bike, I found
the hose to the ECU wasn't even connected,
so no spark advance. Found this out when I
pulled the carb rack out.....ran MUCH better
after I put it back together.........

Second - NO vacuum hose should be 'open',
or disconnected. Maybe the PO put a 'T' in the
line for some reason. Check the hoses per the
diagram carefully and see if you find something
amiss. These old bikes have had one or several
PO's, and what I found is really amazing....
set yours up per the diagrams, and be happy....
