Re: clutch ligth
The reverse doide is shorted. Its attached to the harness. It stops the neutral lamp from lighting when the clutch lever is pulled in.
It's annoying but nothing bad will happen till you get it replaced.

Re: clutch ligth
It took a while to find it, when I was troubleshooting no neutral light. But, I found it under the seat, almost in direct line with the starter solenoid. The top part of the picture shows it near the fuel filler cap, but I found it further back under the seat on my 87' Interstate. Also a pic of what your looking for.

Re: clutch ligth
The clutch diode on the '85 LTD is under the seat towards the rear of the bike. It is in the same place as the connections for the saddlebag wiring on the left side of the bike adjacent to the left saddlebag. Here is a picture of where it is:
These diodes are still available from Honda, just make sure you get the one that fits the '85 LTD as there are two different sizes with the same part number. Best to take yours with you when/if you order one."When you write the story of your life, don't let anyone else hold the pen"
