I have a question.
I have 1984 gl 1200 aspencade. When I try to start it this year the fuel pump was not getting any gas do to old gas my fault. Got gas cleaned up and thought I was good put new fuel pump on and now it burned up the pump nd fuel cutoff relay the relay made a loud pop like a back fire .Any help on why it did this?

Did you put the same type of fuel pump on? Sounds like it was drawing too much current, or perhaps a short circuit.

Shorted out on the motor bolt went past the rubber mount .
