LTD Fuel pump part number consensus

Post by jwebfournow »

Hi all, recently picked up two 1985 LTD's nice clean bikes, one needing a stator, the other needs a fuel pump, have seen some articles on the fuel pump replacement ,see that the Spectra SP1186 seems to be the closest to original fitment, is that the general consensus for a replacement? Or has there been any other fuel pumps I should be looking into? Thanks

UPDATE! Kind of interesting, this fuel pump seems to have been replaced at some time, I decided to put a 12v battery direct to the wires coming out of the pump not at the connector under the seat, pump started working!!, then re plugged into the connector and voila pump is now pumping figure that one out!
