You can balance the left and right cylinder banks, but cannot balance cylinder 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 right because of the fuel injection. It is recommended to clean the throttle plates with carb cleaner prior to balancing the cylinder banks. Set the idle when you do this.
Ignition timing is non-adjustable.
If you don't have the service manuals, electrical troubleshooting and supplement manuals you should get them.
