My 86 Aspey has a intermittent issue where it dies after a mile or two sets the fuel system light and sets the crankshaft sensor code. One solid and two flashing LED's. It will fire up after it sit's for a while. Have you all seen this issue before? Can this sensor cause a intermittent problem?

Yes the pulse generator can do this. You can check the resistance of the generator before you start the bike. When the bike dies check the resistance again, if no resistance the pulse generator is bad. There are a few things that can cause this also. Good luck.
