Aspy tool kit

Post by maestro319 »

Bought an '86 GL1200 Aspencade last April. it did not have the tool kit. Does anyone kknow where I could get one? Or should I try to just put one together from Home Depot, Lowes, etc.? If that's the route I should take, what should I have in it?

Keep checking on Ebay. I found the correct tool kit for my 85 LTD there. There was a "standard Wing kit on it last week. They pop up every now and then.

Way cool littlebeaver. Post a picture or two. And...where'd you get your tools? Did you put them together from a "big box" store, or what?

That's quite a job that Wingman did for you there Maestro, wow..the guy really cares..Here is the cheap pouch I made out of a old coat..Ha ha  Hey, I'm Mr. el cheapo dude..

Just get those tools off his list or out of your tool box and stuff them in there, it's 8x10 to the flap opening.

Just sew it inside out so the pretty stuff is inside then when done turn it inside out..

Just bought it. $25.00 for shipping seemed pricey, but I guess the tool kit does have some weight to it. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

i think some folks on e-bay over charge on shipping to make up for the price bought if it goes cheap...and some just over price it, but you also have the handling if you have to drive it to the Post Office or wherever...but if you want it or need it...it can be cheaper than running all over town looking for it... 8-)

You got that right, frosty. I guess $25.00 isn't too out of line since a box of tools could be rather heavy. I jus hope I get all of the ones that are shown in the picture. I have heard of "bait and switch" on E-Bay. Probably doesn't happen too often though.
I'll keep ya posted.
Thanks again.

Got the tool set today. Smaller in size than I expected, but that's ok. For what I need it for (quick minor road repairs) it'll do just fine. I will have to supplement it though. It came with a socket wrench and extension but NO sockets!! I'm sure I can find some around here to put into the pouch. Probably a 7mm, 8mm, 9mm and 10mm. It has a LOT of Allen wrenches in it too, but I do have a metric combo set I'm going to add. It also has 2 feeler guages, a pin type and a blade type. Can any of you think of anything else I absolutely have to have?? Thanks.
