changing trany fluid???

Post by steppin stone »

Hello here is another question for you guy's . I want to change all the fluid's in the bike so I know it's fresh. I have replaced the fluid so far in the ....front fork's, rear shock, clutch, all the brakes fluished, flushed radiator, oil and filter ,fuel filter. Okay now I want to change the rear end fluid I will be putting on a new rear tire over the weekend so I will do it then. The question I have is can I change the fluid in the trany. If I can could someone please tell me where do I drain it and fill it, also should I use the same gear oil as rear end 80/w gear lube? Thanks :D

You already changed the trans oil when you did the engine oil.

Well, Harleys (correct me if I'm wrong, never owned one) do have separate tranny fluid - the tranny is a separate unit from the engine, connected by a belt or chain drive....

Harleys actually have 3 'holes': motor, tranny and primary case (connection between motor and trans).
