10 amp ignition fuse blowing on second triggering of start button

Post by jetchason » Sat Aug 25, 2018 9:27 pm

Recently having difficulty starting 1985 GL1200A.
10 amp ignition fuse blowing when triggering start button.
Starter motor cranks on initial triggering of start button, but 10 amp ignition fuse blows on second initiation of Start button.
Ordered and replaced starter relay, suspecting that to be the problem, but issue still occurring.

Unplug the fuel pump and see if it still blows the fuse.

What would fuel pump have to do with ignition circuit?

3 possible current draw points except a wire pinched to ground.
Fuel pump, bad regulator module or bad ignition module.
