pinstripe removal
Looking for ideas on how to remove some extensive pinstriping on the rear trunk. Just bought the bike and do not like the "artwork". Tried a razor blade with little success. Original paint is nice and do not want to damage it. Anyone encounter this? Thanks! P.S. it has not been clear coated over.

Can you tell if the stripes are painted on, or are they striping tape pin stripes?

Bike must be parked in the shade out of direct sunlight or in a garage and have a cool paint surface, not warm. Use Easy-Off oven cleaner in the yellow can and do only small sections (6-8 inches) one at a time. Leave it on for NO MORE THAN 4 minutes then wipe it off. Move along to the next section and do the same thing. Be advised that those striping and lettering paints can sometimes leave a slight stain or discoloration to the original finish. Additionally, if the stripes have been on a very long time the underlying paint may not have faded as much as the exposed area and may appear slightly darker and newer looking. After it's all off polish the cleaned parts with a fine cut polishing compound and wax as you normally do.

Re: pinstripe removal
I had to remove an entire painting from my top box ...
Easy-off yellow, and a plastic " Tuffy" pot scrubber. Just a few minutes and scrub and wipe off with damp cloth.
Takes several applications.
Don't rush .
I did , and went thru the clear coat in 2 small places... heavy sigh ... which even with wax , I can still see on sunny days....

Ouch! Better to use a soft rag and not anything with even the slightest abrasive in it for the stripes. Be careful and you won't have a problem ride don't hide. The main objective here is to let the chemical do all the work on the stripe removal and not scrubbing and scraping action.
