Bringing and 85 Aspencade Back to Life

Post by Kevininin »

This past summer I bought a 85 Aspencade for $500. Not running, sat for more than decade. 35K miles

I finally started digging into the bike. The carbs, all four were frozen, choke included. So far I have tore down the carbs, got 3 of 4 choke valves freeded. Only one of the of the butterflies moves free as it should. I I started of soaking the carbs in simple green and water, followed by dish soap and water, followed by three days of hitting them hard with Kroil. Next I am going to try boiling them. If that doesn't do it I would imagine a complete and total tear down is on oder.

Thoughts? comments? recommendations?

Don't forget to replace the timing belts.
