1984 Goldwing Aspencade handlebars height

Post by Flydutch070856 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 4:19 am

Hi there fellow riders
I bought my 1984 Goldwing Aspencade, 6 months ago and spend my time fixing it up and occasionally riding it. I found that climbing on the bike was uncomfortable as the handle bars interfere. I now have set the bars higher which helps and I find the riding position still comfortable. However the clutch and brake fluid reservoirs looks like being designed for a typical handlebar height. Maybe this is dumb question but can this high setting I have now interfere with the proper working of the clutch and the front brake now being not "Level". (It includes that now the reservoir level reading is not level so you cannot really see the remaining fluid levels. Anybody any comments or advise on this?

I raised the bars on my 1200 and on my now 1500 and never had any issues, however I didn't raise them to the point of not being able to still see and judge the fluid levels. the draw is in the bottom so as long as there is fluid and it isn't leaking I don't see it as an issue

Thanks for the input. I can see the fluid still so I should be alright.
Cheers,

On both my FJ1200 and my cb750 the master cylinders are far from level. Never had a problem.

Thanks Maz. I just realized though that when I do a "top-Up" of fluids I got the bring the reservoirs level, do the proper job and then go back where I like the handle bars to. Not an issue just a realization
