I am the original owner of a 1986 GL1200i.
Its leaking fluids this winter. (I'm a frost bitten Canadian boy) A gasket set from the dealer is no longer available. I have never used anything but factory gasket sets in any of the motorcycles that I have worked on.
I have to use an aftermarket set. There are several different makers out there.
What is the best/better marker out there?
I wan/t to get my baby on the road soon!
Thanks

Re: Engine gaskets
Don't go buying gaskets yet! It's very common for these bikes to leak a bit when they are left in very cold weather. Once the weather has warmed up, take it for a ride and see if the leaks continue. I'm willing to bet the leaks will fix themselves at that point.PStoddart wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 8:21 pm I am the original owner of a 1986 GL1200i.

Re: Engine gaskets
WingAdmin is right.Happened to me on the 83, same deal. Healed up own his own. Just in case though Babbits online and partszillow maybe more have your gaskets.12251-MG9-306. I panicked to soon as I have a new set of head gaskets in the parts bin purchased four years ago for this problem.
