Lagging between 2 & 3 thousand RPMs

I have an 85 Goldwing Rebuilt the carbs changed fuel filter,fuel pump,fuel lines. Idles perfect but it lags between 2 & 3 thousand RPMS. what are the symptoms of this problem

What process did you use to clean the carbs?

Run the bike till it starts to "lag"..reach over and bump up the choke lever a bit.See if the engine picks back up.A carb needle lift was needed on mine to get it through the mid-range lean spot.
And no..you can't just leave the choke part way on

rebuilt the carbs,split them apart changed all needles jets o rings Idles perfectly,sync the carbs.not sure what else to do,frustrated changed the fuel line ,fuel filter,fuel pump

Did you thoroughly check and or replace all any and all vacuum line and soft parts in and around the carbs or on top on the engine? friend of mine just finished doing what you did to his 96 1600. It idled just fine till the throttle was cracked. He wanted to blame the carb re-builder. Long story short........it was a split vacuum hose along with a few other soft parts.
Heat cycles, age take a toll on that stuff.
