Seafoam

Post by Delsilver »

Still getting the kinks worked out of my new to me bike.
Had a couple problems to sort out, followed the lead on info I found here and definitely helped, thanks guys.
Was hard to start when cold and ran rough when rolling on at anything under 2500 RPM in third, forth or OD.
Put 1/2 can of seafoam in the gas and took her out for a ride of about a 160 KM, 100 miles, big improvement in both cold start and power under 2500 RPM.
It was also hard to find neutral and the starter clutch wouldn't engage properly when warm. put the other half can of Seafoam in the crankcase for the same ride.
The oil in the crankcase was still golden in color but 2 years old before I started.
When I got back from the ride it was black so cleaned out lots of gunk.
Drained it out and changed the filer, refilled with Amsoil 10/40 motorcycle rated oil and shifting, neutral and starter all improved immensely.
