Brake master cylinder question

Post by Taz1966 »

I've got a 1984 Honda Goldwing 1200, does anyone know if the little hole in the master cylinder for the front brakes has a one-way check valve in it or is it just a small hole that goes all the way through???

as far as I know, there is no check valve, its a return hole that goes through to the piston, when I put a new kit in, I was able to check the hole by blowing a little brake cleaner through it, and it showed up in the barrel.

there is a small baffle, that goes over the hole in the reservoir, i would assume this is to stop blow back.

Ok thanks, I wasn't sure and needed to find out. Mines totally stopped up and was going to run a extra small drill bit (about a size 80) with my pinvise down it to clear it.

a can of spray brake disc cleaner with straw will clear the hole, dry quickly and leave no residue
