Hi y'all!
All new here and a have a question..
I now own a lovely 1200 Aspencade I have a problem.
When my rear shocks are without air in them my bike just goes right down to the ground..
Are the springs that bad? Been a motorcycle mechanic for over 16 years and never have I changed springs in a bike! ( well that's a lie, motocross bikes of course).
Should I get new springs and new oil seals and replace them, or buy new shocks without air?
Thank guys and girls!

What you describe is near about exactly what happens with OEM.
"Progressive Suspension" used to sell stronger than OEM springs to rebuild them, seal kits too. In fact, they even used same seals in their 416 series air/spring shocks.
Not sure if still do. Be worth a check.

Thanx for the respond!
Seems i only can get the springs from USA (live in sweden)..
So to make it clear, the bike should be rideable with just springs and no extra air in them?
Have to think about what I'm going to do, what the best option are for me.

Yes, the springs should support the weight of the bike and rider normally. The air is just used as a preload adjustment, to add preload when carrying more weight. The original OEM springs get tired, and the result is what you're experiencing now.Kripestam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 11:52 am Thanx for the respond!
