How do I locate and replace the turn signal relay. A step by step would be helpful. Thanks

not sure if there is much of a difference between 84 and 86 aspy but on the 86 its situated to the right of the steering head, buried in the wiring down to the left of the radiator cap. you might be able to hear it clicking by turning on the turn signals, which will help locate it.

its awkward to reach

good luck.

I just replaced mine, and as he stated, pull the shelter and it is on the right side between the radiator cap and the coils. It is a round aluminum can held in a rubber mount. Now, there are 2 of them, one for the turn signals and one for the 4 ways. If one is suspected bad and the other good, swap them and you can know for sure.
BTW, I just posted a plug and play replacement, it is meant for LED's, but works fine for regular bulbs too.
