Looks like old VW dome light? Pointy on ends maybe?
I expect that's an aftermarket kit in there. OEM didn't have any lights in trunk corners, they were reflectors only.
OEM brake / running lights were towards center.

Correct, the corner lights in the trunk on a GL1200 are an aftermarket accessory. Here is the link to OEM and includes details on the bulb.

A worthwhile addition IMHO but a good candidate for a LED upgrade.

Re: GL1200 trunk corner brake light bulb
The reason for wanting to know the correct bulb number was exactly that I wish to change the corners to LEDs as I already done to the 1157 trunk lights to help with headlight dim during braking

Re: GL1200 trunk corner brake light bulb
Just bought another Goldwing. This time it's an 85 Limited which I want to restore. It runs fine, but definitely needs TLC since it hasn't been used since 2011. Anyway related to the trunk corner lights. My Limited had the amber lens, which is not factory, but do like the concept of the additional tail and signals higher along with the lower lights. However, don't like the bulbs so I have revised the socket assembly as shown.
Any comments would be appreciated. Like the idea of a more relevent and easily found bulbs, in addition to being brighter.
The multiple bulb holder is the original. The outer 2 are holders I made from BAY15D sockets with 3596 bulbs. Brown wire is for tail/park lights and Yellow wire is signal light.
