All locked up
New to me 86 GL 1200a Aspencade. Searched and found nothing similar. Bike has gone from moving to being immovable. In neutral running or not, will not roll. Thought it was rear brake as P.O. had replaced pads. Rebuilt, same problem. Disconnected caliper, and is loose on rotor. Still not able to roll. Engine, clutch and evidently brakes are fine. I can't move it to put on center stand to raise wheel off ground. Is it ok to jack on kick stand (I would think no). P.O. had replaced rear tire. Find it hard to believe something tightened up gradually

Re: All locked up
When a bike won't move,I first suspect stuck brakes.I moved mine from where I bought it 60 feet to a trailer..I couldn't get it off it.All the calipers locked up..yup all 3 of them.Had to do a complete brake job just to get it off the trailer.
Completely release all the calipers first. If it still won't move,I suspect problems in the final drive.

Update. DOOH! Got the front jacked. It appears to be the front wheel that is locked. Now which caliper? Im sure it will be the second one I take apart.

Thanks Virgil. Are you a Greyhound rescuer? My sister has had maybe 5. Great personalities.

No grayhound here.I just run like them from open eyes till shut.
I have AKC German Shepard. She likes to talk and sing..and will tell you she sings better that you.
Flush all the brake fluid out too and clean both calipers.

Re: All locked up
Open and then close the bleeder screw on one or both calipers. Thinking some fluid will be expelled. If wheel then is not locked up...thinking the compensating port in appropriate master cylinder is blocked.....

Re: All locked up
Loosened right caliper (tied to rear) and it was "loose" on rotor. Expecting front right (front brake) to be the culprit. Will see tomorrow. Thanks all. Keep her between the lines.
