I am looking for a video that shows how to install the rear tire and final drive. Replaced the swing arm and having difficulties getting the drive shaft in place. I have found a few showing how to take the tire off.
Thanks.

The best advice I got about getting the driveshaft back into place, was to take a break. Then come back to it fresh. I must have spent 20 minutes trying to get that @#$&%^%^&shaft lined up. Stopped for a bit and calmed down, then it slid right in in 20 seconds. Also be sure all the splines are cleaned and lubed up with moly paste.

Re: Help, Rear Tire Install Video
First try was yesterday, waited 24 hours and tried again. Then I thought there has got to be a trick to this. I did see one video of a tire removed from an interstate while leaving the final drive bolted to the swing arm. Has anyone done that on an Aspencade?Rambozo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:18 pm The best advice I got about getting the driveshaft back into place, was to take a break. Then come back to it fresh. Re: Help, Rear Tire Install Video
Got the rear tire on the bike. Had to do some backtracking though:
Removed the swing arm and flipped the u-joint end for end.
Reinstalled swing arm
Suspended the arm with one shock
Installed final drive with out the tire. Did have to do some twisting around but got it to go in place.
Dropped the arm off the shock.
Rolled in the tire and attached the final drive.
Wish I had one of those camera glasses to shoot video of the process. Much to messy of a job for my hand held video cam.

Here is a video of me putting the tire and exhaust back on the bike.

Getting the bike back on the road was a four month process. Started with oil leaking from the water pump, replaced and new seals installed. Worn out rear tire, after new tire was mounted found bearings in the drive shaft housing, turned out to be from the swing arm. Swing arm replaced. It is good to riding the GL1200 again.
