2019 - Adding Electronic Cruise Control

I've searched this 100 times but everything seems to be a little dated. With the typical Audiovox kits not being available anymore (even the Murphs), what are the options these days? Being an 86 Aspencade I have the digital speedo (does that imply I have a VSS signal?) so what stops me from being able to use any automotive aftermarket cruise control that does NOT need vacuum?

From your reference to Murphs Kits you have read my experiences installing the cruise control. viewtopic.php?t=38920 From my reading the basic advantage of vacuum based systems is faster throttle response.

There are three sources that can be used to tell the controller how fast you are going; tap into the speed circuit from the front wheel, add a magnet and pickup to the drive shaft, or engine rpm from the coil. I chose to use the engine rpm because it was the easiest to set up.

I am happy with the cruise. It does a good job of holding speed going up and down hills.
