Not as far as I know. If too dim, bulb is likely out.

I have done the LED conversion on other bikes on their instrument cluster. The one thing I would recommend is use high quality LEDs, stay away from the cheap Chinese ones off of eBay. personally I've done all mine in red but the colors are numerous so be creative and have fun
