12 views and not a single reply? Nobody knows what that E means? Goes to "E"? What the hell does that even mean?

Means those connections go to a different part of the schematic on a different page, reference "E"

Don't have a copy of that schematic or book, so can't be more specific.

You do not highlight the part of the page where it occurs, and I certainly don't have time to study the pic in detail looking for it. However E normally means Earth.

Mervk, it cant be earth... look at the pic... even red power wires says goes to E

I really really need some assistance here.. and you seem to be the only person on the planet that has an actual 85 wiring diagram.. the 84 doent work nor does the 86. Please look at your book and tell me good sir

Didn't see them cause I didn't look. Denverwinger answered your question above, I believe. I do not have your manual. Look for an inset or another diagram with the title 'E'. I have nothing else to offer.

Without more information it is difficult to say just what E is.

I notice that there are other things that say "To *"

Such as:
To F
To F/A
To F/C

What are those references? Is it an addendum page or do those circuits show up on the next or another page or a bus?

Usually the "To E" indicates that the circuit continues to another diagram with the "E" connection. Not having the manual I can't say which diagram it goes to but if you look at the other diagrams you will probably find an "E" connection on it and with all those references I would suspect it will be a fairly large connector.

"Solved"

Okie dokie Gents and Guru's.. and Mervks..

Mervks, I say high to you first since you seem to have 9second ADD.. So to redundantly recap.. you didn't look at the picture because I hadnt seen any highlight nor had the time to study the picture BUT you found time to reply so you could point out that you werent going to look at it since i hadnt highlighted the "to E".. sooooo why reply at all if you had only a negative stab at me instead of a helpful contribution?

Ok fellas... solved!!

I should inform you guys that the diagram in the pic came from a post in these forums. Had I had the book I would have looked up the meaning of E... I just cant believe Honda would change it ecery year.. makes zero sense to me.. '84 clymer, haynes and shop.. different, 87,86.. different.. twas like the '85 manual didnt exist.. look for yourself... these are the diagrams i tried to use to complete the bare minimum wiring..

I've grown accustomed to relating "E" with "EMPTY" myself?

I don't recognize the diagram as one in any of my books, so beyond empty, I'm at a loss.

The diagram (schematic) is for a 1985 Interstate witch is completely different then the one for your Aspencade so I don't know why you care what E means since it has no relation to your bike and what are you trying to fix on your bike? Just saying.

IF,
we restrict ourselves to just reading Schematics, that are Multi-Pages....

"E" is just the 5th circle DOT that shows common connections between pages.

"A"
"B"
"C"
and so on..... it just a tie point between common wiring points.

the engineers have a wall 15 feet high, by 35 feet long to put their schematics on when figuring out how to wire a bike.

the manual printer boys, has to reduce that to one page...
and the wires are so dense, no one can follow a single line.

so, folks started splitting up the schematic into readable pages of just a small part of the overall design..... and then the wires run off the page and little black DOTS appear, and they get labeled, "A", "B", "C" and so forth.

A Secret:
engineers don't figure it out before hand.
they just wire things up as they go, and some jerk with a pencil is required to put what that engineer did on paper.... poor slob, one hell of a dismal job..... and he gets no credit for it at all.
