speed sensor accuracy

New to me 85 A. Seems like the speed sensor is not accurate, so many people passing me unless I get it to 65 mph in a 55. Really don't want to find out the hard way (ticket) so can some one check rpm at 55 and 65? Now you have another excuse to tell the Misses that ya need to go for a ride..... 8-)

Hello,

On my GL1200A when the bike says 62-63 actual speed is 60. That is according to my GPS. Now to keep up with the Canadian drivers I usually have to travel 65 indicated. (FYI I am in NE MN).

Another consideration is if the speed gears and sensors are starting to wear out. The gear on the front wheel can start slipping around the blade in the mechanical to electrical converter.
