replacing meter lightbulbs with led

Post by oldishwinger »

Hi Folks, have an 86 aspy, of which the odometer has decided to play up, while I'm in there replacing it, I thought I might change the bulbs to led, if possible.

Has anyone done this, has there been any issues, and what is the bulb type.

many thanks.

I replaced an odometer in my '85 Aspy with one robbed out of a spare cluster I got off Ebay, was within a couple K miles. Never considered LEDs in it … or in the trike as the OEM lights are a plenty there. I never wanted too bright instruments as the more light there on my dash diminishes what I see down the road at night.

thanks for your thoughts, I was lucky enough to find a new odometer, not easy to find anymore but it was just a thought the lights are good as standard for sure, I might just change the bulbs anyway

many thanks

Yeah, you were "lucky" finding a new one for a 30+ year old bike!

yes it was, I had done all the usual searches and no go was thinking of probably a second hand dealer or something. Anyway on a whim decided to try local Honda dealer they are great do deal with, but didnt expect to find one really.Half an hour later I had one, I think Ill buy the man a beer lol.

I havnt done this before, so its going to be an interesting exercise.

thanks again
