86 GL1200A carb needle broke. Now what?

Post by Kiletravis09 »

Hey everybody. I recently purchased a barn find 1986 GL1200 Aspencade. It only has 9,000 miles and is in great shape other than a little dusty. I’m currently in the process of running through the fuel system and carbs. Iv completely disassembled the carbs and I’m running through each one and doing a ultrasonic cleaning of all parts.

Today I removed a carb needle from the wash and noticed the tip is broken. The needle has “1cg” printed around the top collar but I’m not finding anything online. I would like to just replace the needle but if I have to I can replace all 4 needles with one of similar specs. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Or no of where I can purchase similar needles?

How much tip is missing compared to others? The tip just looks chipped on one side, if it's still total length as others, it's gonna be long enough the tip stays aligned with the jet, when lifted, it's not metering much at like WOT.
