driver backrest mounting brackets

Post by steppin stone »

Hello, I have a backrest for the driver and one of the nuts for the mount broke. I was wondering if there was a place that I could purchase just the nuts that go on the brackets not the whole bracket.

None were OEM, all were aftermarket & all some different, pics would maybe help.

The silver locking collar? It tightens to squeeze the tube on the BR tube?

If so, not a hardware store item. It's tapered.

Did it split or strip?? Ebay might be your best bet for used take offs?

That's exactly what I was referring too (crystalpistol) the silver locking collar. I have seen them on ebay but I don't want to purchase the whole bracket. I was hoping to find the manufacturer or supplier of the seat and see if they sold just the nut. Those bracket are quit pricey and they're used and don,t know if the nut's are any good.

Yeah so I've been looking for the bracket's and I think that they're a little to pricey. I was getting my mind turning and thought hey I could just drill a hole and maybe put a pin through it like the photo. What do you think ????

Yeah so got online to ebay and they wanted about $50 a side. I went and purchased those pins and drilled through the bracket and frame it only cost $4 . looks great and the price was right...

Oh for sure, once adjusted to the position that suits you, could drill a 1/4" hole through each and use 1/4" hitch pin, then maybe a second or third hole for future adjustments or seasonal adjustment to suit with thicker winter jacket or etc … or just to allow a change.

At least as handy as the knob.
