Hard thud felt and heard ....

Post by Totalchaos »

Ok when I'm in rideing and a approach a lets say a hard right turn I start gearing down to slow to make the turn.
I Make my turn I. Throttle up to power out and I hear and feel a HARD thud I am thinking it's in the pumpkin on the rear tire. Is this normal?? To me it feels there is a lot of slack in either the pumpkin or some part of the final drive. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I would think something more towards suspension/swing arm/wheel. You mention right turn when the problem appears, the driveline would not see, know or care which way the bike is going to lean. If possible have someone follow you or stand in road to watch what the arse end does when you get the thud.

Lol you are right the bike does not care. I have given It a real good looking over. Nothing is broken or over worn but will have my wife help with the road test.

Check the swing arm. I have heard of them rusting out at the pivot point. Or the bearings could be worn out.
