1984 GL1200 AE Fan thermo switch

Post by youngsonken »

Hi Can anyone tell me the temperature that the thermo switch which operates the fan should cut in. The fan works when I short the 2 pin connector which activates the fan. However, I have tried holding the thermo switch in hot water (as you do with the thermostat) to see when the fan should kick in. I have tried both the old and a new switch and had the temperature to 99°C and no fan. Your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, ken

Switch range (per manual) 98-102 C. For testing purposes the switch needs to be maintained at that range for at least 3 minutes. Somewhere I read someone had theirs function at 104 C. Slightly out of spec. but still worked.
