1986 Interstate GL1200... where is the fuse panel???

Post by mikeohh »

Hello!

My dad just bought an 86 Interstate GL1200. We tried to ride it home and the front brake locked up so I turned it off and trailered it. Now, when we try and start it again, there are no lights on the dash, no attempt to start. The starter, if bypassed/jumped turns over. The 30 amp fuse by the battery looks good.

Where is the fuse panel on this thing? Any other tips would be appreciated!

FYI - battery is brand new... bought it on the way to buy the bike.

Thanks!

Welcome to the site and I assume this is your first Goldwing. Unlock the lid of the dummy tank cover and lift out the plastic glove box and you will find the fuse panel and that is where the gas cap is also. Good luck with the bike and once you have her running the very first thing is replace the timing belts if the PO has not done it as you don't want to destroy the engine if one breaks. Bob
