Coolant is disappearing

I have a question I go about 300 miles and I have to add coolant there's no leak does not leak into the oil is no external leak I just don't know where it's going does anybody have any ideas

if there's nothing dripping onto the ground, no milkiness in the oil, and no evidence of coolant-coloured stains on the engine then it has to be getting into the combustion chamber.
i would do a compression test. better yet, if you can get ahold of the tool, a leak-down test.

The only thing I've noticed is it gets hot sometimes and sometimes it doesn't I was wondering if it might be the thermostat for the radiator cap I've noticed that it's a little colored around the bottom of it like it was leaking one time and it looks pretty rusted I was thinking of getting a new one but I haven't noticed any puddles underneath like with a drain tube is only once I touched it and it was a little wet on the bottom but it's never left the puddle
